Greetings! I’m your healer, you may call me Ryne ^^(alternately I respond to Desae, Des, Nya, or “Heals”). That’s pronounced Rin, btw. Let me introduce myself. I’ve been gaming since the good old days of Atari. I was introduced to pc gaming surprisingly enough in school, Oregon Trail anyone? Of course you played it. We got our first pc in 4th grade, since it was MS-DOS I played such epics as gorillas and nibbles and Whales. I eventually moved into the world of flight sims, my favorite being Jet Fighter, and Jet Fighter II.
After flight sims came Star Wars games! Rebel Assault I & II then TIE Fighter, still my favorite game to date. If there’s one game I’d love to see remade it’s that one. I didn’t start playing mmo’s until college where I started playing Ever Quest. My class of choice was Necro. After EQ I was introduced to Lineage 2. It was love at first sight! I played L2 for about 6 years before quitting. However I still log on now and again since it’s F2P. My main in L2 was a Shilien Elder, I rolled her in C5 at the peak of popularity, they decreased to mere buff bot status in the later expansions but I spent many many many many hours healing aoe catacomb parties, Raids (as a mana battery and backup heals), and castle & fort sieges (mass pvp), and of course Olympiad ( 1 on 1 pvp matches for Hero status). Then I was talked into playing WoW by my husband. I had beta tested Burning Crusade (perks of working for an electronics retailer closed beta access ftw! ) but didn’t care for the graphics (I’m a game graphics snob, I admit it!) or game play (too easy – yes easy – in BC!!!). I ended up joining a cool guild and making friends. I soon became a moderately casual raider, with a main class of resto/enhance Shaman.
After WoW came SW:TOR. Class of choice: bounty hunter (merc heals spec). That however, didn’t last long. I did enjoy SWTOR, however, mostly for the story. I LOVE the follower story lines, and they were hands down my favorite part of the game. But, MMOs aren’t all about the story, and I soon grew lonely as husband Tlaen left the game and the guild I was in transferred servers.
In the end I went back to WoW yet again, after playing some single player games such as Dishonored, Bioshock Infinate, Terraria, and Portal 2. I’m currently eagerly awaiting the release of Battlefront and Dishonored 2.
